Story
The Soul of Orca.
From prayer bundle to Killer Creative. How a saltwater prayer, wild animals, and a leap of faith grew into a purpose-driven creative pod inspired by totem animals guiding us along the way. Orca is a senior-level, fully remote pod of creative experts who know how to listen deeply, think strategically, and build creatively. To better understand Orca, you have to understand its founder and the wild moment that sparked it all.
Totems
At Orca, our philosophy is guided by the totems that surround us. The owl reminds us to trust hard-won wisdom, the eagle to see higher and live with integrity, and the raven to stay open to flashes of insight. The salmon embodies vitality and the endless renewal of creative energy, while the wolf teaches us to trust instinct and honor loyalty. And at the heart is the orca itself—symbol of community, harmony, and shared journey—showing us that together, our creative power is greater than the sum of its parts.
Insight
Sometimes, insight comes frommysterious places. In fact, it can feel like a flash of divination as we work throughour creative process. When people cometo us for guidance, we think of the raven, who glides into the picture to silently observe— then, when ready, issues its deep croaking call to draw our attention forward.
Wisdom
We know we can only do our best work when we lean on the wisdom and judgment we’ve built over the years. The owl spirit animal represents exactly that: known for its sharp vision and keen observation, the owl reminds us to tap into our insight and intuition—and to look beyond the obvious. As we work, we should be so focused that we can almost hear the near-silent whoosh of the owls on their evening hunts outside our hilltop studio.
Vision
We can perpetually improve our craft if we constantly push to think higher, connect to something beyond ourselves, and bravely look beyond our perceived limitations. That’s precisely what the eagles soaring above our forests say: they convey a connection to a higher power and remind us to explore, climb upward, and think bigger. With its watchful eye, the eagle also reminds us honesty and integrity are the secret to freedom.
Insight
The wolf captivates our attention and makes it clear we need to trust our instincts—in our work, all the knowledge and skills in the world aren’t enough if we don’t know how to listen to our instincts chiming in. The wolf is tough to catch a glimpse of out in the wild. But if you listen, you can hear its pack howl at night, singing of intelligence, loyalty, and family joining together in their hunt.
Vitality
Done right, our work carries lasting relevance. That’s what the salmon represents: rebirth, onward movement, fulfillment, and eternal life. The waters around us here in Washington are full of life thanks to the salmon, who fills every moment with vitality and joy. A symbol of femininity and reproduction, the salmon remind us that creative power never ends—it just takes new forms over time.

Community
Our namesake totem heralds our personal values: family, love, longevity, harmony, travel, community, and protection. The orca roams far, fierce yet devoted to family and always returning home to nurture and protect the pod. Swimming together in perfect synchrony, orcas show us the power of working together, sharing our songs, and navigating the greatest seas of possibility.
